Monitor Compliance & Performance
- Monitor and measure key characteristics of operations and activities that can affect the delivery of the sustainability policy, objectives and targets.
- This includes tracking performance and evaluating compliance by the supply chain and contractors.
- The lessons learnt from any failures to comply or meet goals shall be fed into the planning and delivery of future events.
Management System Audit
- Periodically audit the sustainability management system to determine if it conforms to requirements, has been implemented properly and is effective in reaching sustainability policy, objectives and targets.
- Results of the audit are reported to top management.
- Those undertaking the audit are objective and impartial.
Management Review
Management reviews shall assess opportunities for improvement and the need for changes to the
management system, including the statement of purpose and values sustainability policy and objectives and targets. The review shall take into consideration:
- monitoring and measurement results, evaluations of compliance and the findings of internal audits;
- communications with stakeholders and changes in stakeholder expectations;
- the extent to which objectives and targets have been met;
- status of corrective and preventative action;
- changing circumstances, including developments in legal and other requirements related to its sustainability policy
- recommendations for improvement, also considering best practices;
- implementation of previous review recommendations;
- progress against sustainable development principles; and
- progress towards a proposed maturity matrix that takes into account the principles linked with this
- For the event sustainability management system to remain in conformance with this International Standard, the organization shall ensure, through management review that it progresses against its governing principles of sustainable development relating to event management.
