Paper, cardboard boxes and shrink wrap from deliveries, beverage bottles, cans and cups, timber offcuts, scrap metal, discarded materials – these are likely to be produced in significant volumes at your event.
Check with your recycling contractor what you can send for recycling and how they need it separated while still onsite for optimum processing.
As an event is built waste is created, from staging and décor, fencing and barriers, seating, marquees, along with the myriad of deliveries which arrive wrapped, packed and palletized.
Once you know what your recycling service can take, adjust your recycling procedures accordingly.
Recyclable materials such as timber, glass, plastics, paper and metals can all be recycled. Most countries see great value in recyclable materials as they provide a raw ingredient for onward processing into new materials.
The way that waste is treated in your country will be dependant on many factors and will range from highly technical automated facilities, through to hands-on collection of recyclables by waste pickers.
