Risk Assessment

A Risk Assessment for the event is undertaken. This process identifies potential risks that may cause harm to the individuals or organisations interacting with the event.

Risk assessments are completed in the initial planning phase and then reviewed in the final weeks leading up to the event to ensure risks have been addressed. Risk assessments may be required by local councils as part of the event permission process. Risk consideration includes:

  • Physical risks from event location and proposed activities
  • Psychological risks from the impact of event activities and its interaction with the community
  • Legal risks associated with planned event activities and the event location
  • Environmental impacts of the event activities on the immediate event location
