- Existing ‘green build’ certification

If the venue or hotel does not have independent certification ensure it has best-practice policies and procedures in place including:
- Corporate sustainability policy
- Sustainable building infrastructure
- Consideration of Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ) issues such as ventilation, clean air, low VOC, natural light etc.
- Energy conservation and sustainable energy supply
- Water conservation, water capture and water recycling
- Waste management and landfill diversion initiatives
- Housekeeping-based initiatives (towels, sheets, toiletries, etc)
